Corporate Fishing Charters in Islamorada | A Fishing Guru

Islamorada is known as the Sportfishing Capital of the World — and a private fishing charter here gives corporate groups an outing that's genuinely different from the standard client entertainment or team-building formula. Our charters are fully private, professionally run, and structured around your group's size and goals. Everything on the fishing side is handled. The experience is yours to shape around that.

Corporate Charter Options

Offshore charters run on Big Guru, our 39' Contender out of Three Waters Marina at MM84. This is the right boat for corporate groups who want the full Florida Keys offshore experience — open Atlantic water, blue-water species, and a day that feels nothing like the office. Mahi-mahi, wahoo, tuna, and sailfish are the primary targets depending on the season. Up to 6 guests per boat. Starting at $900 for a half day, $1,750 for a full day.

Inshore and backcountry charters run on Little Guru, our 24' Shallow Sport. Protected, calm water in Florida Bay — tarpon, redfish, snook, and seatrout on the flats. A better option for groups that include non-anglers or guests who prefer a relaxed, scenic day on the water without the offshore conditions. Up to 5 guests. Starts at $600 for a half day.

For larger corporate groups, we can arrange multiple boats running together with coordinated itineraries and a competitive format between vessels.

Full charter details are on our Islamorada fishing charters page.

Why Fishing Works for Corporate Groups

A fishing charter puts everyone in the same situation regardless of their role — the conditions are new, the captain is in charge, and success comes from paying attention and staying present. For corporate groups, that equalization tends to produce genuine conversation and connection that structured team-building activities often don't. It's also hard to be distracted by email when there's a wahoo on the line.

Offshore mahi-mahi fishing in particular works well for corporate groups because the fish school up — meaning when the action starts, it starts for everyone simultaneously. Multiple hookups, everyone working a rod at once, and a natural shared moment that doesn't need any facilitation.

Offshore vs. Inshore for Corporate Groups

The inshore trip on Little Guru is the right call for corporate groups that include guests who prefer a lower-key day. You'll explore the iconic backcountry flats and mangrove creeks of Islamorada, targeting redfish, snook, and tarpon in calm, protected water. It's a relaxed, intimate experience — ideal for senior clients who want a comfortable outing, mixed groups where offshore conditions wouldn't suit everyone, or smaller teams looking for a more technical, hands-on day on the flats.

For corporate entertainment and incentive trips, offshore on Big Guru is the standout choice. The target species are larger, the action is more dramatic, and the open Atlantic adds a sense of scale to the experience that leaves a lasting impression on clients and teams alike. Choose from half or full-day outings where mahi-mahi, sailfish, and tuna make for the kind of fishing that people talk about long after the trip. Trips run out of Three Waters Marina at Mile Marker 84.

FAQs

How many people can join a corporate charter?

Our individual boats accommodate 5 guests (Little Guru, inshore) or 6 guests (Big Guru, offshore). For larger corporate groups, we can coordinate multiple boats departing together with a shared itinerary and competitive format. Contact us with your group size and we'll put together the right configuration.

Do participants need any fishing experience?

None. Our captains run trips for all experience levels and explain everything clearly before and during the charter. Groups with no prior fishing background catch fish regularly. The captains are used to working with corporate groups and know how to keep diverse skill levels engaged throughout the day.

Can we set up a competitive format between teams?

Yes, and it's one of the more effective ways to run a multi-boat corporate charter. Assign teams to boats, set the competition parameters (biggest fish, most fish, first fish), and reconvene at the dock for the results. Your captains can verify lengths and weights. It adds a layer of stakes to every bite.

Is this better than a golf outing for corporate entertainment?

It depends on the group. Fishing puts everyone on equal footing regardless of skill — there's no handicap system, and the angler who's never fished can outperform the experienced one on any given day. For client entertainment, it's a memorable, conversation-forward experience that tends to stand out against the standard options. For team building, the combination of shared unfamiliarity, high-stakes moments, and open water tends to produce genuine group dynamics fairly quickly.

How far in advance should we book for a corporate event?

For single-boat corporate charters, 30-60 days out is typically sufficient outside of peak season. For multi-boat events, 60-90 days minimum is strongly recommended to ensure boats and captains are available. Spring through early summer is our busiest period offshore.

What's the cancellation policy?

Full refund with 7 or more days' notice, minus a 4% booking fee. 50% refund with 48 hours to 7 days' notice. No refund within 48 hours. Weather cancellations are fully refunded or rescheduled.
